More about love

In this final installment of the Entrance to the Eternal Kingdom series, we look at the purpose of creation: love of God. Learn what it means to love God and how to cultivate this love.

We have a commandment to love God and a commandment to love others. In his epistle to the Corinthians, Clement appeals to the authority of Yeshua's mandates about love to pose an argument against the ursurpers in Corinth. Listen in on this Green Room Class from 2013 on 1 Clement 47-52. Download a pdf of the original handout below.

A discourse by Paul Philip Levertoff on the subject of God's love through the Messiah as expressed in the Gospel of John. Excertped from Levertoff's book Love in the Messianic Age. See the attached PDF below for a print copy.

"Love is patient, love is kind." 1 Corinthians 13 wasn't written for the sake of flowery ornamental text inside a Hallmark wedding card. The original meaning of the passage within the context of Paul's discussion of spiritual gifts and revelations reveals new insights into the meaning of the famous love passge.

Loving God seems like should be easy. Unlike humans, he is perfect. There is also no doubt that he is worthy of our love. But there are serious challenges with carrying out the important commandment of loving God. In this class we learn how to overcome these challenges and what it takes to love our Creator.

What does it mean that “the one who has loved another has fulfilled the Torah” (Romans 13:8). What commandments are incumbent upon a Gentile disciple? If the Gentile disciples are not “under the Torah,” then to what are they obligated? Paul addresses this question in Romans 13 and lays out some overarching principles and specific examples. This audio file, recorded in January of 2014, has poor quality audio but great content.

People often speak of "biblical marriage," but what does that actually look like? Learn about Rebekah's little-known mentor and why "love" is not a good basis for marriage in this teaching on Chayei Sarah from Aaron Eby.
